Kochi: Amidst reports of contesting from Kerala in upcoming General Election, Union Minister Nirmala Sitaraman interacted with people on board Vande Bharat Express in the state on Friday.
She took selfies with fellow passengers and shared the pictures shared on her X (Twitter), media reports said.
She was surprised to find Union Minister for External Affairs V Muralidharan joining her on the train.
Sitharaman also interacted with Kerala Congress former Rajya Sabha MP Joy Abhraham. “Happy coincidence to meet up with a former member of Rajya Sabha Shri. Joy Abraham MP (RS) 2012-18…”
Sitaraman said she was fond of making train journeys and described her trip from Kochi to Thiruvananthapuram as a ‘pleasant experience’.
She praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Railway Minister for introducing semi-high speed trains.
“Taking a ride on #VandeBharat from Kochi to Thiruvanathapuram. Vande Bharat was introduced by @PMOIndia @narendramodi in September 2022. It is after a year that I have the opportunity to travel in one of them. Being popular, the train runs fully booked. Well done @RailMinIndia,” the Union minister wrote on X, sharing the ride pictures.
