Kochi: jeopardising the dream of forming a third front in Kerala, the Twenty20 has bid good bye to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), media reports said.
Entrepreneur and chief of Twenty20, Sabu M Jacob, said the People’s Welfare Alliance is being disbanded.
The matter has been brought to the notice of AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, Jacob said.
Vinod Mathew Wilson, president of the Kerala unit of AAP, has confirmed the reports of separation.
Wilson said an official announcement in this regard will come from the national leadership.
The two parties had announced a tie up on May 15, 2022 in Ernakulam sans common minimum programme. Ideological differences have been haunting them since then.
Jacob said that Twenty20 will continue to serve the people of Kerala and fight corruption.
Twenty20 is an emerging political force in Ernakulam where it has crushed parties like CPM, Congress and BJP in certain areas. Twenty20 is governing four local bodies in Ernakulam. Jacob’s KITEX group is world’s leading readymade exporter.
