Kochi: Chief Minister-elect V D Satheesan has done a commendable job to lead his party to victory even as there are scary challenges before him.
The first and most dangerous challenge
is to tame the wounded lion Ramesh Chennithala whose decades long dream of occupying the Chief Minister’s chair has been shattered.
Chennithala expressed his protest publicly and has gone innuendo after he missed the bus. A few leaders backing Chennithala has openly challenged the selection of Chief Minister. It is written over the wall that he will never agree to work as a minister under Satheesan.
The six-term MLA and leader of the opposition, Satheesan has little experience of working as a minister which is a major hurdle in dealing with bureaucracy lobby among others.
Since the government’s fate is heavily dependent on its long term ally Muslim League, negotiating with the minority front will be terrible.
The challenge of implementing the poll promises will make him sweat as the state is sitting on a huge debt of Rs 4.8 lakh crore.
