Kochi: Kannada actress Ranya Rao, daughter of a senior IPS officer, was arrested at Bengaluru airport for allegedly
smuggling 14.8 kg of gold from Dubai, media reports said.
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) apprehended her at the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) on Monday night.
The actress, who came by an Emirates flight, was held while she was passing through the immigration clearance section.
Rao came under the surveillance of the DRI for her frequent visit to Dubai.

Reports said being the daughter of a top cop, she used to seek police at the airport to skip scanning. The value of the gold she has smuggled is estimated to be around Rs 12.5 crore.
