All party meeting calls for unity 

Kochi: A meeting of all parties in Kerala on Monday resolved to stand united to fight efforts to divide the society in the backdrop of the blasts at a religious event yesterday in Kalamassery, media reports said.

The meeting convened by the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan urged people not to indulge in baseless accusations, speculative campaigns and rumour-mongering in the wake of the blasts, the reports quoting 

a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office said.

Opposition leader V D Satheesan of the Congress accused some leaders, including a central minister of making irresponsible statements.

Kerala will stand united to face the crisis. The parties asked the government to spruce up intelligence activities, he told reporters.

IUML leader P K Kunhalikutty said that the main demand of the parties was to maintain  communal harmony.

The meeting was attended by all major political parties which resolved to maintain  peace, brotherhood and equality in the state, the reports quoting the statement said.
