Kochi, India: On Sunday, Australia will face New Zealand in the final of the ICC T20 World Cup in Dubai.Australia entered the final beating Pakistan by five wickets in the semi-final at Dubai on Thursday.
After losing the toss, Pakistan was asked to bat first and managed to set a target of 176 by losing four wickets. M Rizwan made a solid 67 while F Zaman scored 55.
Azam made a formidable 39 runs to lay a strong foundation for the Pakistan innings. For Australia, Starc claimed 2 for 38, while Cummins and Zampa took one each by conceding 30 and 22 runs, respectively.
Chasing the total, Australia started shakily, giving hope to Pakistan fans. However, they came back into the game with stellar performances by David Warner, 49 of 30, and Marcus Stoinis, 40 of 31. The moment of the match was when wicket-keeper Matthew Wade hit Pakistan speed king Shaheen Afridi for three straight sixes in the 19th over. Wade hit 41 of 17 balls.
Among Pakistan bowlers, Shadab Khan put up a stellar show by taking 4 for 26.
