Kochi: Former Chief Whip and BJP leader P C George ,74, was granted bail on health grounds by a Magistrate court in Kerala on Friday.
He was sent on Judicial remand by the court on February 24 in an alleged hate remarks during a tv channel discussion.
The court in Erattupetta in Kerala, sent him to four hours of police custody.
Before taking him to police custody, George was sent to Kottayam Medical College for medical examination, where he was declared sick.
He was admitted to the ICU after noticing some irregularity in his ECG.
Police went to arrest George after his anticipatory bail in connection with the hate remarks was rejected by Kerala High Court.
Police had booked George on the basis of a complaint accusing George of making hate remarks. After the High Court rejected his, George went innuendo for a few days, after which he surrendered in a court in Erattupetta.
