Kochi: Fr Davis Chiramel Charitable Trust will distribute a thousand idlis free during Thrissur Pooram. A packet containing three idli and sambar will be distributed among the people.
Volunteers in ten ambulances will distribute idli packets.
The trust would also sell idli for Rs 2 from 9 am to 5 am in Peringavu in its Amachiyide Adukkala, Chief Patron Fr Davis Chiramel told reporters in Thrissur.
The outlet will also sell fried snacks like Achappam, Kuzhalappam, Unniappam, Uzhunnuvada made in pure coconut oil.
The trust is also organizing ‘naatuchandha’ (village fair) from 4 pm to 8 pm on all Wednesdays. Green leaf soup, Chembarathi (Hibiscus) soup, Egg, handloom articles, and green tea are some of the attractions of the market. It is a platform for the farmers to sell their products directly.
People can sell pet dogs, birds and other domestic animals.
Cloth bank was inaugurated by mayor M K Varghese.
Income generated from it will be used for meeting the financial needs of poor homes across the state.
