Kochi: Central Board of Film Certification’s refusal permission to release Malayalam film ‘Janaki’ in JSK – Janaki vs State of Kerala starring Union Minister Suresh Gopi and his son was questioned by the Kerala High Court on Friday, media reports said.
The Court asked the censor board as to on what basis it refused permission for the film even as a number of films were made with similar names.
The court observed this why hearing a petition filed by the film’s production house, Cosmos Entertainment.
The court pointed out that Indian cinema has a history of using mythological names without controversy.
