Kochi: With CPM’s SFI continuing to revolt against Kerala Governor, the centre has decided to provide CRPF Z category protection to him, media reports said.
The decision coincided with the Governor losing his cool over the SFI protesting against him at Kollam on Saturday.
The PMO office, Union Home Minister and Vice president talked to Khan about the protest.
“Union Home Ministry has informed Kerala Raj Bhavan that Z plus Security of CRPF is being extended to Hon’ble Governor and Kerala Raj Bhavan,” the Governor posted on social X. The Prime Minister’s Office called the Governor on the phone and inquired about the matter. It is reported that Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar and Union Home Minister Amit Shah also called the Governor on the phone.
The Governor informed the centre that the police’s leniency towards the protestors was a direct result of instructions from the Chief Minister.
