Kochi: Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan on Saturday took to a protest against the Left government for its failure to prevent SFI revolting against him in the state, media reports said.
The Governor got agitated and barged out of his vehicle and charged towards the SFI activists protesting against him flashing black flags while he was passing through Nilamel in Kollam.
The SFI started a series of agitation against Khan accusing him of implementing BJP’s agenda in the state.
The police swung into action and ensured the safety of the Governor.
Khan gave a dressing down to his official for not taking SFI to task. He asked whether anyone would dare to do such things against the Chief Minister.
The Governor was not convinced with the police claims that they had arrested 12 protesters who according to him were about 50 in numbers.
Khan demanded a copy of the first information report and charges levelled against them. The DGP’s appeal to Khan to proceed with his journey was also rejected by him.
Union Minister V Muraleedharan had alleged that the police was not acting against the protestors as per the direction of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, the reports said.
