Kochi: The social media profile of the criminal has helped the police to identify the extremist of the train attack as Shahruq Saifi of NOIDA whose attack led to the death of three travelers last night near Kozhikode.
Police have got some leads from the bag and dairy left behind by him while escaping.
He is a daily wage earner staying at Kozhikode. A special team under ADGP M R Ajit Kumar had intensified investigation into the incident after the police issued a look out notice containing the caricature of the criminal, media reports said.
Some travellers had suffered burn injuries. The train was stopped by pulling emergency alarm, following which many ran to safety without taking note of the criminal who too took to heels leaving behind his baggage and mobile phone.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav told a TV channel that the matter was serious and that he would look into it.
