Ex Minister K T Jaleel in trouble

Kochi: Former Kerala Minister K T Jaleel was booked by Kerala State Commission for Protection of Child Rights for allegedly humiliating schoolchildren during a programme in Mannarkkad in Palakkad.
The Commission registered a suo motu case against the former MLA based on video clippings of Jaleel showed him allegedly punishing a child during the event on Sunday, On Manorama reported.
Inaugurating a victory celebration organised for students, Jaleel chided students for committing mistakes while writing their parents and addresses in Hindi.
Jaleel, who won as an Independent candidate, was a Minister in LDF government to resign in 2021 after the Kerala Lokayukta found him allegedly involved in nepotism by appointing his relative to the Kerala State Minorities Development Finance Corporation in 2018.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) questioned him in connection with a Gold smuggling case in Kerala involving Diplomatic Cargo to the UAE Consulate in 2020.
Jaleel was also in trouble for making a Facebook post using terms like “Indian-occupied Kashmir” and “Azad Kashmir”. Jaleel joined CPM recently.
