Kochi: Idukki senior school football competition to free the younger generation from the grip of drug menace was inaugurated by Dean Kuriakose, MP, today.Organised by the Nehru Yuva Kendra, the event “Footbaalaanu Lahiri” (soccer is the addiction), is attended by 20 senior school teams from the constituency.
Kerala Football Association president Tom Jose kunnel presided.Former national football player Rahul S delivered felicitations. Thodupuzha Soccer School (TSS) director P A Saleem Kutty welcomed.M H Sajiv, district football Association secretary delivered a vote of thanks.The winning team will get a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and a trophy, while the runners up will be awarded Rs 5,000.
