Groupism thrives in Ktk BJP

Kochi: The BJP central leadership is upset over the factionalism led by Basanagouda Patil Yatnal thriving in the party in Karnataka where Congress is in power, media reports said.
Former Hassan MLA and state general secretary Preetham Gowda told media persons that the party legislators have sought action against rebel leaders who attack the State leadership, the reports said.
BJP Karnataka State core committee discussed the issue in the presence of party national general secretary and State in-charge Radha Mohan Das Agarwal the other day.
The committee is learnt to have underscored the need to take everyone into confidence to resolve internal brickbats.
Majority of former legislators, who attended the meeting, are supporters of state president B Y Vijayendra.
Agarwal is learnt to have advised the former legislators to desist from indulging in public fights in the interest of party discipline. He held separate meetings of party legislators and former legislators.
BJP State general secretary V Sunil Kumar told reporters that he wanted to quit from the post due to his inability to do justice to the post.
Internal tussle has reached a stage where the rebels, led by Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, openly challenge the leadership of party State president B Y Vijayendra.
Vijayendra’s supporters are mulling to visit New Delhi to meet the party central leadership to seek expulsion of prominent rebel leaders.
Both camps have been trying to bring pressure on the party leadership to initiate action against one another, while the central leadership appears to solve it without offending anyone, the reports said.
