Kochi: Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan today said that there are signs of constitutional machinery failing in the state, even as the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said Governor was speaking things out of context and exhorted the Centre to recall him.
In a press release, the Governor held Pinarayi Vijayan responsible for deteriorating Law and Order situation and alleged that the protest against him at the Calicut University was done at his behest.
Ironically, the chief minister who himself is crushing Congress protests against him, criticised the Governor for his intolerance towards protests by CPM’s SFI at Calicut University where the banner raised against Governor was removed by the police at Governor ‘s direction.
Meanwhile, CPM state M V Govindan rubbused the charges that constitutional machinery had failed in the state.
Govindan said that the Governor had published the press release after meeting BJP leaders.
