Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Tuesday granted permission to publish the Justice Hema Commission report on sufferings of women working in Malayalam film industry.
Rejecting a petition pleading to stay the release of the report on the grounds of affecting the privacy the privacy of others in the film industry, the court directed to publish it within a week.
The court had sought responses of Kerala government and Right to Information Commission before staying the release on July 25.
The matter came before the court after producer Sajimon Parayil challenged the release of the report expressing fear over it impacting the privacy of the individuals in the film industry.
The committee was set up after the actress assault incident taking place in 2017.
Justice K Hema, actor Sharada and former IAS officer K B Vatsala Kumari are members of the committee.
The report was submitted on December 31, 2019, to the Kerala government sat over.
