India win T20 series
Kochi: India beat New Zealand by seven wickets to win the T20 series 2-0 at Ranchi.
Sent into bat, New Zealand started well and were close to ten runs per over until the tenth over.
Excellent bowling by R Ashwin, Harshal Patel and Azar Patel put brakes on the Kiwis’ aggression. They could make just 153/6 .
Glenn Philip made 34, Martin Guptil 31, Daryl Mitchell 31 were the main contributors.
Indian openers K L Rahul 65, and Rohit Sharma 55 established a strong foundation to make the victory easy.
India made 155/3 in 17.2 overs. The third and final match will be played at Kolkata on November 21.
