Kochi: India beat South Africa by nine wickets to lift the Women’s U19 T20 World Cup in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.
This is India’s second consecutive U19 Women’s World Cup title.
Winning the toss, South Africa decided to open the innings. South Africa was bundled out for 82 in 20 overs.
Chasing a victory target of 83 runs, India reached the target by losing just one wicket in 11.2 overs.
Opener Gongadi Trisha scored 44 off 33 balls. The 19 year old Trisha took 3 wickets giving away 15 runs. Sanika Chalke hit the winning boundary two balls into the 12th over. India won the inaugural tournament in 2023.
