India tests navy’s preparedness

Kochi: Indian Navy successfully carried out a precision cooperative engagement of a sea-skimming target in Arabian sea as part of testing Navy’s defence capabilities.
The latest indigenous guided missile destroyer INS Surat was used for the exercise, Indian Navy posted on the X.
“#IndianNavy’s latest indigenous guided missile destroyer #INSSurat successfully carried out a precision cooperative engagement of a sea skimming target, marking another milestone in strengthening our defence capabilities,” The Indian Navy posted on X.
“This milestone is a testament to the Indian Navy’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation’s maritime interests and its dedication to Aatmanirbhar Bharat,” the Navy said.
Jointly developed with Israel, the Medium-Range Surface-to-Air Missile boasts of an interception range of 70 kilometres.
Earlier, Pakistan issued a no-fly zone in the Arabian Sea as it is preparing to test a new missile amid tensions with India following the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives, mostly tourists.
