Kochi: Indian women lifted the hockey gold cup beating Olympic runners-up China 1-0 in the finals of the Asian Games after a wait of 44 years in Japan Friday.
Lalremsiami struck the decisive goal in the 10th-minute helping India get a direct entry to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.
India last won the gold at the Asian Games in 1982 in New Delhi.
China had beaten India 4-0 in the semi-final at the Hangzhou Asian Games. India held China to a 2-2 draw in the FIH Women’s World Cup in the Netherlands.
