Kochi: An Iranian warship IRIS Lavan docked at the southern port of Kochi in India based on a request from Tehran, media reports said.
The 183-member crew has been accommodated at naval facilities, reports quoting government officials said on Friday.
An Iranian frigate was torpedoed and sunk by a US submarine near the coast of Sri Lanka the other day.
The vessel was in the region to participate in an International Fleet Review hosted by India last month.
It docked at Kochi on Wednesday.
On Thursday, an Iranian warship — IRIS Booshehr — docked a port in Sri Lanka.
A total 208 crew were accommodated at a naval camp. IRIS Booshehr also participated in India’s International Fleet Review and sought permission to enter a Sri Lankan port after experiencing engine problems.
