Kochi: Congress-led government has ordered a probe against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar in connection with allegations pertaining to Kerala State Transport Project while he was PWD secretary in 2006.The investigation is linked to the suicide notes left behind by Malaysian contracting company official Lee See Been of the PATI-BEL consortium accusing officials and others, Kerala Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala told reporters. The contract involved upgradation of MC Road under the Kerala State Transport Project, Times of India reported.
Chennithala has directly instructed the Vigilance Director to conduct a thorough inquiry into the allegations of external influence in the case allegedly involving Gyanesh Kumar whose resignation is sought by Rahul Gandhi of Congress and Left parties accusing him of Special Intensive Revision (SIR).It is shocking to see a Congress-led government acting on a matter of 2006 even as three Left governments and a Congress government from 2006 to 2026 failed to take any action on the matter.Interestingly, Congress-led government has taken fast action in the matter even as it is dilly dallying to book Former Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, his daughter Veena T, her husband Mohammed Riyas, MLA, in a money laundering case involving CMRL which has accused several Congress leaders including Ramesh Chennithala of receiving money.
