Kochi: India beat Hong Kong by 40 runs in the Asia Cup T-20 at Dubai International Stadium today.
Putting into bat, India played confidently to post a challenging score of 192 for 2. Openers K L Rahul, 36, and captain Rohit Sharma, 21, laid the foundation for former skipper Virat Kohli, 59, and hard hitter Suryakumar Yadav 68 to consolidate the total.
The two made quick runs and remained not out till last. For Hong Kong Shukla and Ghazanfar took one wicket each.
Batting second, Hong Kong could make only 152 for 5. Hayat made 41, K Shah 30, Z Ali 26. B Kumar, A Singh, Jadeja and A Khan took one wicket each.
