Kochi: A teenage girl survived a major attack on her by a drunkard on board a train while traveling to Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala Express on Sunday night, media reports said.
The 19 year old victim Sona of Palode in Thiruvananthapuram was kicked out of the speeding train by the accused who picked up a fight with her.
She was kicked out at Ayanthi overbridge between Varkala and Kadakkavur around 8.30 p.m.
The drunken accused Suresh Kunar, 48, was overpowered by the passengers and handed over to police at Kochuveli Railway station.
The victim was found by the loco pilots of a MEMU train in which she was taken to Varkala Railway station. She was rushed to a private hospital where doctors referred her to the Thiruvananthapuram Government Medical College Hospital.
Her condition has improved considerably.
People traveling in inebriated condition in train is common while RPF or police failing to act against them.
