MDMA worth Rs 75 cr in Ktk

Kochi: A total of 37.87 kg of MDMA, worth Rs 75 crore, was seized from
two South African women.
The Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths of Mangaluru City Police made the seize believed to be the largest in its history, a top police official told reporters in Bengaluru.
The accused are Bamba Fanta, alias Adonis Jabulile, 31, and Abigail Adonis, alias Olijo Evans, 30, who are living in New Delhi.
Fanta arrived India in 2020 and Adonis came in 2016 on a medical visa and doing different businesses.
Four mobile phones, two trolley bags,
two passports, Rs 18,460 in cash and other incriminating items were impounded from them.
They were allegedly transporting MDMA from Delhi to Bengaluru for distribution when they were arrested near Neeladri Nagar, near Electronic City, Bengaluru.
The operation was part of a six-month-long probe led by CCB ACP Manoj Kumar, after the arrest of a Hyder Ali by Mangaluru East Police, where 15 grams of MDMA was seized.
Subsequently, police arrested a Nigerian Peter Ikedi Belonwu, from whom 6.248 kg of MDMA was recovered.
The duo were supplying MDMA to Nigerian nationals and others in Nelamangala, Hosakote, and KR Puram.The duo, who had fake passports and visas, would return to Delhi within 24 hours after deliveries.They travelled 59 times between Delhi and Bengaluru in six months.
They have allegedly confessed to
their involvement in drug peddling for over 1.5 years.
City Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal told reporters at Bengaluru on Sunday
