Kochi: Kochi: The BJP on Monday announced a new team led by party chief Nitin Nabin ahead of the elections to seven states including in the crucial Uttar Pradesh in 2027.
The team comprises 13 vice presidents
to prepare for the polls in Goa, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Manipur, Gujarat, and Himachal Pradesh.
Firebrand leader and former Union Minister Smriti Irani has been appointed national general secretary while Madhav has returned as a national vice president.
Union minister Piyush Goyal is national treasurer, while former chief ministers Biplab Kumar Deb and Tirath Singh Rawat are national general secretary and national vice president, respectively.
The new team will meet for the first time on August 22.
Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia, Baijayant Jay Panda, Rekha Verma and Tariq Mansoor have been retained as national vice presidents.
National general secretaries Vinod Tawde and Sunil Bansal will continue in their posts while B L Santhosh has been retained as national general secretary (organisation).
K Surendran has been taken off from Kerala to make him national secretary while Anil Antony will continue as national secretary and Anil Baluni as national media role.
