Kochi: A CRPF official was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday on charges of espionage, media reports said.
Moti Ram Jat, who was accused of sharing sensitive information with Pakistan Intelligence officers, was dismissed from the service, the reports said.
Jat was actively involved in espionage activity with Pakistan Intelligence Officers (PIOs) since 2023, the NIA said.
A special court remanded him to NIA custody till June 6.
The intelligence sleuths nabbed after closely monitoring his social media activity.
The NIA has found that the accused was receiving funds from the PIOs through various conduits.
