Kochi: India today accused Pakistan of operating commercial flights during tension between New Delhi and Islamabad during the intervening nights of May 8 and 9.
Addressing a press conference at New Delhi, Col Sofiya Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomkesh Singh said that Pakistan was using humans travelling in the flights as shields from retaliation from India.
They said Pakistan used armed warheads to attack Bhatinda airport which was neutralised.
They Pakistan violated the International border and Line of Control to venture into Indian airspace while targeting India with drones which were neutralised using Kinetic and non kinetic means.
Pakistan used 300 to 400 drones to target Leh to Sir Creek at 36 locations.
Pakistan targeted a Christian missionary run school, a Gurdwara, to create communal tension, Misri said.
When asked about the de-escalation of tension, Misri said Pakistan had to decide if it wanted to de-escalate tensions with India as Delhi responded to the original escalation triggered by the Pahalgam attack, External Affairs Secretary Misri said.
India is conducting a forensic investigation of the wreckage of the drones, even as initial reports suggest that they are made in Turkey.
