Kochi: Strict measures have been taken by the district administration and police to ensure safe conduct of Thrissur Pooram, being held in its normal format after a gap of two years.
The sample fireworks will be held from 7 pm while restrictions are in place to ensure safety on Sunday.
There will be only regulated entry to Swaraj Round.
No parking is allowed in Swaraj Round or Thekkinkkadu ground from morning until the sample fireworks are over.
There will be regulation of traffic through Swaraj Round from 3 pm on Sunday.
Those who are coming to see sample fireworks are directed to park their vehicles at the allotted slots. Two superintendent of police will have eight sectors under them to
maintain law and order.
Police in Mufti backed by CCTV systems will help in nabbing criminals and anti-socials.
Public Address system is in place to give proper information to people.
Petrol pumps will have dry storage during fireworks.
Chembottil lane has been earmarked for emergency exit.
