Kochi: The postmortem of the body of vlogger and youtuber Rifa Mehnu, 20, will shed more light into her death.
The police and the medical team are engaged in the process. She was buried at the Juma Masjid Kabristan at Pavandoor in Kerala’s Kasaragod district.
The postmortem was not carried out earlier as her husband Mehnas (Mehnu), 26, a native of Kasaragod, claimed that it was already done in Dubai.
Growing suspicious over the death, Rifa’s father Rashid lodged a complaint with Kozhikode Rural SP. After preliminary investigation, a case was registered by Kakoor police against Mehnas under IPC 306, 498-A.
A native of Kakul in Balussery, Rifa went to Dubai in January and was working in a shop there. Her visa period was over and she was keen to return home with Mehnas.
Rifa had talked to her parents and her two-year-old son, camping at her native place, through a video call on the night before her death.
Mehnas said he saw her dead when he returned home on the morning of March 1.
He posted the death news on social media.
Rifa and Mehnas got to know each other through social media three years back.
The Dubai police is also conducting a probe.
