Kochi: Four accused including Suhail Sajeev allegedly involved in the Cheranalloor accident case in which three youths were killed have been denied bail by the Additional District and Sessions Court, Ernakulam, on Wednesday.Angamaly Magistrate Court had earlier rejected bail for the accused, following which they moved a petition in the Ernakulam District Court.Ninav, Joyal S Anto and Ameen Sha, all aged 19, are the accused in the case. The defence said there was no further need of custodial detention of the accused while the prosecution opposed the bail arguing that chemical examination of blood and urine samples of Suhail showed the presence of Ethyl Alcohol five times the permissible limit. The prosecution argued that a clinical test proved the prime accused Suhail had consumed alcohol much beyond permissible limit. As the results of Suhail using chemical drugs and EDR information are pending, the accused should not be given bail.EDR is a black box in a car which captures a short window of vehicle speed, braking, throttle position, and steering inputs among others.
