Kochi: Controversial actor Shine Tom Chacko appeared before the Police on Saturday morning after remaining underground for a couple of days, media reports said.
Shine arrived at the station flanked by his lawyer responding to police notice. The Ernakulam North Police had served notice at his house in Mundur as attempts to contact him over phone failed.
Shine was reportedly caught on surveillance camera escaping from the third floor of a hotel in Kochi during a drug raid a couple of days back.
Since then he was not traceable.
Allegations of Shine misbehaving with actor Vincy Aloshious under alleged influence of drugs had put him in trouble in the wake of Kerala High Court’s direction to the film industry to ensure safety and dignity to women actors in the sets.
The Kerala Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) is meeting on Monday to examine the issue raised by actor Vincy Aloshious
in social media.
She had filed a complaint before the KFCC, Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) and the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of the movie. She did not divulge the identity of her co-star and the name of the movie.
The committee was formed based on the recommendation of the Kerala State Women’s Commission on the basis of Kerala High Court directed the film production houses to form an internal complaints committee as per the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention,Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (PoSH Act).
