SIT spots more in Sabarimala Gold robbery case

Kochi: Former Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) President P S Prasanth and the temple administration have been indicted in the abarimala gold theft case probed by the Special Investigation Team (SIT).The SIT has informed High Court of Kerala gathered evidence against Prasanth and the temple Administrative committee in the criminal conspiracy related to the handover of gold-plated copper plates to a private firm in 2025, Manorama news reported.

The SIT states that enough materials have been collected to establish the role of late Murari Babu, former Executive Officer, Sabarimala, Unnikrishnan Potty, the sponsor, Pankaj Bhandari, proprietor of Smart Creations, Chennai, P S Prashanth, A Ajikumar, Member, TDB and Kandararu Rajeevaru, Chief Priest (Tantri), Sabarimala, and Rejilal, Thiruvabharanam Commissioner, TDB.

The SIT has sought more time for completing the investigation including analysis of report in places like National Metallurgical Laboratory, Jamshedpur, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre.As per the report, the officers and members of the Board were fully aware of criminal activities in the temple.
