Kochi: Former DGP R Sreelekha’s remarks giving a clean chit to actor Dileep in the actor abuse case has triggered controversy with many targeting her.
Sreelekha used her YouTube channel to absolve Dileep of the charges made against him in the abduction case that took place in 2017.
Sreelekha blamed Pulsar Suni as the real culprit behind the crime carried out at the instruction of the rivals of Dileep whose growth had made them envious.
Sreelekha had said that Pulsar Suni had a history of abusing many women in the film industry in the past.
Meanwhile, Human Rights activist Kusumam Joseph has lodged a complaint with Thrissur Rural police chief against Sreelekha. Kusumam said if Sreelekha had acted against Suni, he would have not committed more crime.
Another activist and lawyer P V Vijayamma alleged that Sreelekha had tried to implicate her in the death of a 14 year old girl. The court had later freed her.
RTI activist Jomon Puthenpurackal accused Sreelekha of trying to protect a woman who killed her child.
He said that Sreelekha would say anything to get popularity. He said Sreelekha has nothing much to claim in her professional career.
In another incident, photographer Bidil asserted that the photo of Dileep with Suni taken by him was genuine.
Earlier, Sreelekha had said that the photo was fake and police evidence was not genuine. Pulsar Suni and others were arrested in connection with the abduction and abuse of the actor on February 17, 2017.
Later, Suni confessed that he had committed the crime at the instance of Dileep.
