Kochi: Over 20 people were reportedly killed in a terror attack in the Baisaran Valley area of Pahalgam in the Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, Times of India said.
Most of those targetted were tourists in visiting the meadows also known as “mini-Switzerland,” the reports said.
The area is accessible only on foot or horseback due to which rescue operation was a tough job.
Chopper service has been arranged for the evacuation of the injured. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a visit to Saudi Arabia. Modi talked to Union Home Minister Amit Shah who has rushed to Kashmir.
In his post on X, Modi said those behind the “heinous act will be brought to justice…they will not be spared! “
