Kochi: Train traffic between Ernakulam Town and Aluva section in both directions was disrupted after a tree fell on overhead cable and railway track on Sunday morning, a senior railway official said.
Train service in both directions was affected in the sector after a private vehicle on the road hit a tree that got uprooted and fell on the overhead power lines and railway track.
Premiums train Vandebharat Express via Alappuzha was late by 45 minutes. Trains operating through Alappuzha and Kottayam sections were badly impacted.
North bound Ernakulam-New Delhi Mangala Lakshadweep Express, Thiruvananthapuram- Hyderabad Sabari Express, Thiruvananthapuram- Shoranur Express were among those detained at different stations.
