Kochi: Police have arrested three persons including an accused who lured a 28-year-old married woman whom he married after converting her to Islam and escaped to Chennai, India Today reported.
The matter surfaced after the woman’s mother moved Allahabad High Court pleading to find her missing daughter.
The court directed the police to find out the woman, mother of a six-year-old child.
The woman was found in Chennai from where she was brought to Noida in Uttar Pradesh.
The woman was legally married to another person with whom she had a child.
An FIR was lodged against five persons including Raja Mian, his father, mother, brother, and the cleric.
While Raja Mian, his father, and mother were remanded, his brother and the cleric were underground.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
