Kochi: As promised by the BJP-led NDA before Kerala Assembly polls, the Union Government has given its nod to the eight lane Angamaly–Aroor bypass.
NDA ally partner Sabu Jacob of Twenty20 party had given the promise during election campaign that the road originally planned as six lane will be made eight lane.
This originally planned from Angamaly to Kundannoor will run upto Aroor.
The revised alignment will cover nearly 50 km and is expected to become one of the state’s major road infrastructure developments, media reports said.
The design also includes scope for future expansion to ten lanes to accommodate increasing traffic demand.
