Kochi: Online news portal Marunadan Malayali promotor and Editor, Shahan Scaria was arrested in connection with a private complaint on forging BSNL bill, media reports said.
The arrest was based on a complaint filed by a New Delhi based individual with the Chief Minister, reports said.
Before the arrest he was questioned at Nilambur in connection with another case pertaining to allegations of trying to divide people on communal lines, the reports said.
He was directed by the Kerala High Court to appear before the Nilambur police on August 17 in this case which was registered by Nilambur Municipal standing committee chairman Skaria.
He could not appear before the court citing Ill health of his mother. The court had warned of canceling his anticipatory bail.
As Scaria was coming out of the police station after securing police bail, he was arrested by a police team from Trikkakara police station in Ernakulam city in connection with the BSNL case, the reports said.
