Kochi: Discussions between Kerala and centre to break deadlock on the issue of the southern state’s financial crises failed at New Delhi on Thursday, media reports said.
The talks were held at the directions of the Supreme Court where Kerala had moved, accusing the BJP-led government of depriving the state of its right to have its due from the centre and preventing it from taking more loans.
Kerala Finance Minister K N Balagopal told reporters about the centre coming out with riders for holding the talks.A four-member delegation led by Balagopal discussed with central representatives.including the Union Finance Secretary.Kerala’s Left Democratic Front held protests against the centre accusing it of trying to curtail its rights the other day.
