Kochi: With the parleys between two sides representing the US and Iran showing no positive results, speculations are making rounds President Donald Trump is exploring options over fresh military action against Tehran, BBC reported.
The fear took shape after the US moved a second battleship into the region.
The US military launched strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities in June last year.
Trump was looking forward to a diplomatic resolution of Tehran’s nuclear programme, Press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters.
Both sides representingBthe US and Iran have indicated that there had been steps in the right direction.
Oman, which is mediating the talks, said the negotiations “concluded with good progress” on common aims and technical issues.
Leavitt said that Washington and Tehran were still “far apart” on some key issues.
Leavitt declined to say whether Israel would be involved in the US decision.
The US and its European allies suspect that Iran is moving towards the development of a nuclear weapon, something that Tehran has always denied, BBC reported.
