Thrissur: The Malayalam version of the book ‘A Hope…The Girl in Island of Depression’ was released by poet Dr. C Ravunni at a function held at Changampuzha Hall in Kerala Sahithya Akademi on Saturday.
Literary works need to bring a horizon of hope before the readers in these testing times, said Mr Ravunni after releasing the book. He said that the book ‘ Oru Pratheesha…Vishada Dweepile Penkutty’ is about the trial and tribulations of upcoming writer Diya who has fought with courage her illness and bouts of depression. The book has autobiographical elements and it reveals the writer’s dedication, he added.
Writer Sandhya Edakkunni received the book. Deputy mayor of Thrissur Corporation Rajasree Gopan, poet Engandiyoor Chandrasekharan, journalist Arun Ezhuthachan, Haridas Eravakad, Jayan Thomas, Jayan Avanoor, Abida Vaduthala among others were present.
‘A Hope…The Girl in Island of Depression’ was earlier released by Amazon as Kindle edition.
