Kochi: Ten month old Aalin Sherin Abraham, who was declared brain dead on Friday after a road mishap in Kottayam in Kerala, will give a new lease of life to four kids, media reports said.
Sherin became the youngest organ donor in the state where three hospitals in Thiruvananthapuram will carry out transplant of different organs on the four children.
Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, KIMS Hospital and Government Medical College are the three hospitals in Thiruvananthapuram where organs of Aalin will be transplanted.
Kochi-based Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences will preserve her eyes for future transplant.
Aalin, who was declared brain-dead on Friday after being admitted in a critical condition at a private hospital in Kochi, will now live through four others.
The organ donation procedures were coordinated through the State-run Kerala State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (K-SOTTO).
