Kochi: A Uttar Pradesh native, Mubarak, was nabbed by Kerala police after he robbed money from different ATMs in the city.
After getting complaints from different banks, the police were able to zero in on him through visuals retreived from the bank CCTV networks.
He was captured from Edappally and was being questioned at Kalamassery police station.
He had robbed about Rs 25,000 from at least 13 ATMs in the city. He used a scale to block the channel through which money comes out of the machine before the customer.
On not seeing the money coming out, the customer would leave the ATM centre, following which Mubarak would enter and take the money by removing the scale, media reports said.
There are complaints coming from Kalamassery, Thrippunithura, Thiruvankulam,
Vyttila, Kadavanthara, Chendamangalam, Edappally and Bannerji road.
