Kochi: Senior Congress Leader Ghulam Nabi Azad quit from the primary membership of the party today.
Azad, who had assumed key positions in the party in Jammu and Kashmir, had resigned from those posts on August 16.
The 71 year old Azad, who is a former Union Minister, was not happy in the party and was part of the G 24 block which was demanding a thorough revamp of the organisation.
In his letter to party Sonia Gandhi, the former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister has cited the party ignoring the seniors and giving importance to novices as one the reasons of his resignation.
