Kochi: Diplomatic gold smuggling case accused Swapna Suresh today said that she was getting life threats to sabotage ED probe about the case in which she had alleged the complicity of the Kerala Chief Minister.
Talking to reporters, she said the calls were aimed at preventing her from telling the truth about the case before the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
The callers gave full details about their identity.
She said that the Crime Branch too had been summoning her to appear before it in connection with the conspiracy case registered against her on the basis of a complaint filed by former Minister K T Jaleel after she had made revelations on the smuggling case against him and the Chief Minister.
She said that she had lodged a complaint along with the recordings of the phone calls which have been coming since yesterday to the DGP.
She said that she had shifted her stay from Palakkad to Kochi.
Swapna said that she feared for the lives of her mother, son and her in the wake of the developments.
Swapna was held in connection with the case in 2020 when a consignment containing 30 kg gold worth about Rs 14.82 crore sent through UAE consulate was seized at Thiruvananthapuram international airport.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s Principal Secretary M Sivasankaran was also arrested and sent to jail for about three months. He came out with a bail and was reinstated.
Jaleel was also questioned in the case then.
