Chennithala emerges as CM nominee

Kochi: Ramesh Chennithala has been proposed as the Chief Minister senior Congress leader P J Kurian if the party led front was voted to power, Kerala Kaumudi reported.
Speaking at the United Democratic Front (UDF) convention in Thiruvalla, Kurien made the proposal in the presence of Chennithala.
‘We are sure to win the polls. Chennithala will be the Chief Minister. He said that the party will decide. However, I don’t have any doubts about this,’ said Kurien.
On the contrary, Opposition leader V D Satheesan and KPCC President Sunny Joseph said the high command will decide who should become the Chief Minister.
The faction-ridden Congress has seen intense rivalry for plum posts between groups led by Late Chief Minister K Karunakaran and former Defence Minister A K Antony.
Late Chief Minister Oommen Chandy was a victim of groupism even as he led the Antony group.
