Kochi: The LDF government’s contribution towards the development of Kerala was exemplary, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said today.
Flagging off CPM-led government’s public outreach programme ‘Nava Kerala Sadas’ at Manjeshwaram in Kasaragod, Vijayan underscored the support extended by the government in the welfare, infrastructure development, employment, education, tourism and other areas in the state.
He said a section was trying to downplay the achievements of the Left government. Vijayan claimed that the government constructed four lakh houses for the poor under the Life Mission project.
Revenue Minister K Rajan presided over the Nava Kerala Sadas, which will conclude on December 23 at Vattiyoorkavu constituency in the southern district of Thiruvananthapuram.
The Congress-led Opposition boycotted the event describing the event as a waste and blamed the government for wasting public money for doing nothing.
The Council of Ministers are claiming to engage directly with the public by traveling along with the Chief Minister in a specially designed bus worth over Rs 1 crore.
The revenue deficit which was ₹9,657 crore in 2015-16 went up to the current level of ₹3,33,592.17 crore.
