Kochi: Ten days after winning the election, Congress is sitting on the decision to select a Chief Minister lead the United Front Government in Kerala due to factionlism between Ramesh Chennithala, V D Satheesan and K C Venugopal.
Even as it was in the air that the name of the leader will be announced on Wednesday, the party top leadership failed to reach a consensus.
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said the announcement will be made only on Thursday as the discussion between Lok Sabha Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi and party president Mallikarjuna Kharge remained inconclusive.
Party High command is holding parleys with senior leaders like former Defence Minister A K Antony, Kodikunil Suresh to come out with the announcement on Thursday.
Ironically, neighbouring State Tamil Nadu saw a newly floated Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam taking charge smoothly, so are BJP-led Governments in Assam, West Bengal and Puducherry.
